“The Galaxy Note10 is expected to come as a successor to Samsung Galaxy Note9 later this year”
The 5G era is upon us! Last month, we saw a slew of brands bring forth smartphones that work with the next-gen 5G cellular network. Among the notables was Samsung, which introduced Galaxy S10 5G (in pictures) alongside its flagship Galaxy S10 series and foldable device. A new report by XDA Developers now reveals that the chaebol could launch a 5G version of the Galaxy Note10 later this year. It came across the information through the kernel source code of the Exynos 9820 chipset that powers Galaxy S10 family, including the 5G version.
As per the report, Samsung’s recently published source code of the chipset has a device with ‘Davinic5G’ codename. The codename alleged belongs to the next-gen Galaxy Note series phone. It shouldn’t be surprising as 5G availability in the second half of the year – which is when the Note series phones are launched – will expand to several countries. Having said that, we can expect two versions of the handset – a standard Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10 5G.
The Beyond0, Beyond1, Beyond2, and BeyondX in the source code are the codenames for Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, and Galaxy S10 5G respectively. Furthermore, another mysterious device with “luge” codename surfaced in the Exynos 9820 chipset. It was previously thought to be for the prototype of the Samsung’s foldable phone, but that didn’t happen as the Galaxy Fold has been codenamed as “Winner”. Thus, “luge” could be one of the other foldable smartphones the South Korean phonemaker currently has in development.
That’s all we know so far, but stay tuned for information on this front!
