  • Alleged OPPO Reno Lite with Mediatek chipset listed on TENAA
  • “This is the third variant of the OPPO Reno smartphone that has appeared on the certification site”

In the last few weeks, multiple variants of the OPPO Reno smartphone have appeared on TENAA. Just last week, a variant with Snapdragon 710 chipset was spotted on the certification site. This is supposedly the OPPO Reno Lite, but there appears to be another variant of the phone. Now new OPPO smartphones, with model numbers PCAT10 and PCAM10, have been listed on TENAA. These model numbers match with previous Reno listings, which means that these must be different variants of the same phones.

According to a report, these could be the MediaTek variants of the OPPO Reno Lite. These new variants are supposedly running the Helio P70 AI chipset from MediaTek. The listing also reveals that the phone features a 6.5-inch FHD+ display and the processor is clocked at 2.1GHz. Other than that, the phones are expected to feature 4GB or 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB onboard storage, a 3,910mAh battery, and run Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

For cameras, the OPPO Reno Lite is expected to sport a 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel combo at the back, and another 16-megapixel sensor up front. Compared to this, the Snapdragon 710 variant is supposed to have a 48-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensor at the back, while the Snapdragon 855 variant will also feature a 10X hybrid zoom camera. As you can see, the OPPO Reno smartphone will most likely have three variants with different processor and camera combination.

The TENAA listings do not feature any images of the phone as of now. Therefore, we cannot be sure that the listing is for the Reno Lite. We will have to wait till April 10th to find out. OPPO is having an event on that day, where it will be unveiling the Reno smartphone. A previous leak did reveal that there could be up to five variants of the new OPPO smartphone. Images and cases for the top-end variant of the phone have already leaked online, so we know what it will look like. The phone features a new type of pop-up mechanism for the selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
