  • Infinix set to launch smartphone with triple rear cameras under Rs 8,000
  • “The upcoming Infinix smartphone will have a near-bezelless display with a waterdrop-style notch for selfie camera up top”

Transsion Holdings sub-brand Infinix is all set to launch its first smartphone of the year soon. The company confirmed it via social media posts as well as a Flipkart listing that reads, “Infinix Triple Perfection coming soon at a Never Before Price!” While the company hasn’t revealed it, 91mobiles has learnt from reliable sources that it will cost less than Rs 8,000. This would make the upcoming Infinix handset the cheapest smartphone with triple rear cameras in the market. The tag is currently being held by TECNO Camon i4 smartphone (also backed by Transsion Holdings), which retails in the country at a starting price of Rs 9,599.

As per the Flipkart listing, the upcoming device from Infinix will flaunt triple rear cameras and an almost-bezelless display, with a waterdrop-style notch on top that houses nothing but a selfie camera and an earpiece. The teaser on the e-commerce platform also touts the smartphone’s photography skills, especially in lowlight conditions, and a bigger edge-to-edge display. 91mobiles can confirm the handset’s screen size will be greater than 6-inch. The handset will obviously be exclusive to Flipkart.

The last device from the house of Infinix was Note 5 Stylus – an Android One smartphone with XPen support. The handset was launched at a starting price of Rs 15,999. It features a 5.93-inch full-HD+ display and is driven by MediaTek’s 2GHz Helio P23 chipset aided by ARM Mali G71 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The storage onboard is 64GB, which could be further boosted by adding a microSD card. Other features include a 16-megapixel sensor both on the front and back, 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and Android 8.1 Oreo running out of the box.
