  • OnePlus 6T discounts suggest OnePlus 7 launch may not be too far away
  • “OnePlus refreshes the lineup of its flagships every six months and the OnePlus 6T just turned five-month-old”

Chinese phonemaker OnePlus seems to be laying the groundwork for its next-gen smartphone OnePlus 7. The company will be announcing its OnePlus 6T at the ‘lowest price ever’ on Amazon.in’s Fab Phones Fest sale, which is all set to kickstart from April 11th in India. The price cut will be in line with OnePlus’ habit to woo more buyers ahead of the launch of a new product. Notably, the vendor recently slashed the prices of the OnePlus 6T in its home market China. There the handset is available with RMB 400 discount, which roughly translates to Rs 4,000.

OnePlus would be eager to clear most of the stock of the OnePlus 6T so that it can bring in the OnePlus 7 with all bells and whistles. The latter is tipped to arrive with a pop-up selfie camera and notch-less AMOLED display that may also bear fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 7 is also expected to feature a triple-rear camera setup and Qualcomm’s latest high-end Snapdragon 855 SoC ticking at its core. The octa-core processor is forged using the 7nm process and is said to be the most powerful Qualcomm chipset ever.

The renders show OnePlus could introduce the phone with three gradient colour options – Black Yellow, Black Purple, and Cyan Grey. As for the specifications, the OnePlus 7 is reported to feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ panel, up to 10GB of RAM, and 4,150mAh battery with the company’s latest Warp charging support.

The official launch date is not known at the moment, but going by the company’s launch cycle, OnePlus 7 may see the light of the day towards the end of May. Not just the smartphone, OnePlus may also announce its 5G smartphone alongside, though that is unlikely since the brand would want a dedicated event for its 5G model. CEO Pete Lau, last year, confirmed the launch of the device in May 2019 with a new design and under a new branding. The details about the offerings remain vague at the moment.
