Realme 3 Pro was revealed in India yesterday as a compelling contender to the crown of the best budget smartphone in India. The smartphone offers slightly better specifications and a promising camera performance at the same price as the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which is currently seen as the smartphone with one of the highest value propositions in the budget segment. Realme is not shying from calling the Realme 3 Pro a "flagship" and might soon release a higher variant of the Realme 3 Pro to justify this description.
After the launch event in Delhi, the company's CEO Madhav Sheth told 91Mobiles that just like its predecessor Realme 2 Pro, the Realme 3 Pro will get a variant with 8GB of RAM. Currently, the device is only available in 4GB and 6GB RAM options with 64GB and 128GB storage choices. The executive also hinted at the price, indicating that the expected model should be priced around ₹18,000.
We're not sure if that means ₹17,999 or ₹18,999 but at this price, the phone will primarily evade into the territory dominated by POCO F1. Even though Snapdragon 710 is not as powerful as the Snapdragon 845, buyers will get 8GB of RAM and at least 128GB of storage, even though there might be a higher storage option available, as well. On top of that, the promise of VOOC fast charging and the inclusion of a 20W charger within the box makes the device an interesting buy.
The executive also revealed that we may expect the Realme 3 Pro with 8GB RAM to arrive by July of this year. Considering that the 4GB and 6GB models are priced at ₹13,999 and ₹16,999, a ₹18,999 price tag seems more likely for the 8GB RAM version. Meanwhile, the other models launched yesterday can be bought starting April 29 from Flipkart. While the Realme 3 Pro should definitely pose a stiff challenge to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, we'll soon be sharing what we feel about it in our review soon.
