The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A MIUI 10.3 update brings a fix to the bug that causes the phone to end calls slower than usual. The status bar shortcut for the Phone app and floating notification for calls appeared at the same time – the new update fixes this issue. It brings optimisation to face unlock and now lets you stay on the lockscreen after using face unlock. It can restrict opening the notification shade on the lockscreen. The low battery warning will now appear in landscape mode as well.

This update optimises the app names in the ‘Recents menu’ that were shortened when text size is set to large. It also fixes the notification badges that were displayed incorrectly on the WhatsApp icon. The updates to Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 are 289MB and 279MB in size, respectively. Since the MIUI 10.3.2.0.OCGMIXM update just started rolling out in batches, it might take a few days to reach everyone.

Xiaomi has recently dropped the Android 9.0 Pie update plans for the Redmi S2 (which is sold as Redmi Y2 in India), Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A without any valid explanation. The company in China has changed the current development status of the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and Redmi S2 in the MIUI forum to suspended. However, the changelog was posted on the Chinese MIUI forum, so it is unclear if the same would apply to the global variants of the Redmi S2 (Redmi Y2), Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A as well.
