The OnePlus 7 Pro is shaping up to be the most cutting-edge OnePlus phone ever made, offering a host of slick features. Now, the company has revealed a few more high-tech features for the upcoming flagship.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed on Twitter that the OnePlus 7 Pro will indeed offer UFS 3.0 storage as opposed to UFS 2.0 or 2.1.

UFS 3.0 storage theoretically offers double the bandwidth of UFS 2.0 and 2.1, as well as lower power consumption. So phones with the standard should be faster at data transfer, installing apps, and other general operations. The new storage standard should also allow for higher resolution video capture.

    A step up from HDR

OnePlus has confirmed to Android Central that the OnePlus 7 Pro display will offer HDR10+ support too. This is an open HDR standard and is already supported on the Galaxy S10 series.

"The plus of HDR10+ is pretty simple; this format provides the ability to provide dynamic metadata for every individual frame of the video file. HDR10 provides the data — but only at the very start, so the whole file will display with the same values. You'll see HDR10+ as an improvement where very dark scenes and very light scenes are balanced to the individual frame, rather than as a whole," reads an explainer by Samsung.

    Editor's Pick

More specifically, Android Central says HDR10+ offers up to 4000 nits of brightness compared to HDR10's roughly 1000 nit figure. And with the rumored 90Hz refresh rate and high DisplayMate rating, it looks like the OnePlus 7 Pro screen will indeed take it to Apple and Samsung's devices.

Other confirmed OnePlus 7 Pro specs include a triple rear camera setup (including a 3x telephoto shooter), and a pop-up selfie camera. But we're also expecting a Snapdragon 855 chipset, fast charging, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. What would you like to see in the new flagship? Let us know in the comments!
