“While the K20 Pro is stated to come with 27W charging, the Redmi K20 is said to ship with 18W charging”
Three new Xiaomi handsets got approved at China’s CCC (3C) certification portal today. The handsets reportedly have model numbers — M1903F10 and M1903F11 — which have been reported to belong to the upcoming Redmi K20 and K20 Pro phones, respectively. The flagships in the Redmi range are set to launch on May 28th. The certification shows that the Redmi K20 Pro will feature faster charging than the K20. There’s another device alongside the K20 siblings, with model number M1903C3 which is believed to be of the Redmi 7A, that was spotted on TENAA a few days back.
As far as the Redmi K20 duo is concerned, the 3C listing suggests 18W charging for the standard model and an MDY-10-EH charger that supports 27W rapid charging for the K20 Pro. That’s the same charger as the one on the Mi 9 (first impressions). The different charging speeds on the two models could be a hint that the two variants have different processors. It’s already known that there is a Snapdragon 855-powered flagship in the pipeline, while the standard variant could come with the Snapdragon 730 processor.
It’s also worth mentioning that one of the variants above (M1903F10) has the same model number as the Xiaomi Mi 9T that recently appeared on Thailand’s NBTC portal. It could be possible that the Redmi K20 will launch as the Xiaomi Mi 9T in other regions outside of China. However, we’d suggest you to take this information with a pinch of salt. What we do know however, is the fact that the brand is teasing the Redmi K20 as the “Demon King” and previous teasers have confirmed a 4,000mAh battery on the handset as well as 960fps slow-mo video recording capabilities. Interestingly, Xiaomi has also started teasing the Redmi K20 launch in India, but the exact launch date has not been revealed yet.
