“The RedmiBook 14 laptop is expected to come with a 14-inch display, up to Intel Core i7 processor, and GeForce MX250 GPU”
Xiaomi’s standalone brand Redmi is scheduled to introduce its Redmi K20 series flagship at an event in its home country, China on May 28th (i.e. tomorrow). At this point, we already know a pretty good deal about the handsets, including their pricing and specifications. Alongside the phones, Redmi is also reported to introduce their first Redmi-branded laptop at the same event. Now, ahead of the launch, the company, for the first time, has teased the RedmiBook 14 on Weibo, confirming its launch. The teaser image shows the side view of the laptop, but doesn’t reveal much else about it.
Furthermore, a recent specifications leak revealed the RedmiBook 14 would be rocking a 14-inch display and while we don’t know the exact resolution just yet, it could likely be a full-HD panel. It would be powered by the Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 mobile processors options, depending upon the variants. The RedmiBook 14 model will have integrated graphics, while the more expensive models might feature NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU. It is said to come in 4GB RAM and 8GB RAM options, with storage options being 256GB and 512GB. It is expected to come in Silver colour. While we don’t know how much the RedmiBook 14 would cost, it should be affordable, given the company’s price-conscious lineage. We should know more details once the laptop goes official tomorrow.
As mentioned previously, Redmi is also scheduled to introduce the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro handsets at the event. The standard Redmi K20 would come in two variants, one with Snapdragon 855 SoC that has been confirmed and the other with Snapdragon 710 processor. Both the options are expected to pack a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 layer, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent. They are likely to run Android 9.0 Pie based on MIUI 10 and feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. The upcoming flagship could be available in Flame Red, Glacier Blue, and Carbon Fibre Black colour options.
