  • Xda-Developers | OxygenOS beta 32/30/18/10 for the OnePlus 5/5T/6/6T brings May 2019 security patches
  • OnePlus' OxygenOS is clearly one of the preferred adaptations of Android due to its customization features and a hyper-smooth experience. To keep it refreshed, OxygenOS is perpetually evaluated and iterated to bring new features and upgrade the existing ones. Every two weeks or so, we witness a new beta for OxygenOS, bringing new upgrades to the table which are meant to be tested before being rolled out to the stable channel. Now, as per ritual, the company is rolling out OxygenOS betas for the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 6, and the OnePlus 6T.

The changelog for the OxygenOS betas version 32/30 for the OnePlus 5/5T and version 18/10 for the OnePlus 6/6T is:

    • System
      • Updated Android security patch to 2019.05
    • OnePlus Switch
      • More accurate remaining time for completion

The primary change in this beta is that it brings the latest Google security patch from May 2019. Apart from this, there's a change in the OnePlus Switch, which is the company's app that helps you switching from an older device to a new OnePlus smartphone. With this beta, the time for completion is estimated more accurately.

Notably, the OnePlus has not removed the Intelligent cleanup function in File Manager which led to controversy after being added in the last OxygenOS beta as a function specific to OnePlus 6/6T in India. The cleanup feature raised concerns as users discovered that it shared data with Tencent's Singapore servers. Furthermore, users do not have the option to disable or uninstall the feature. As of now, the feature is limited to OxygenOS beta.

In response to these concerns, OnePlus said that the feature has been added following high demand from the users in India. In the official statement, it clarified that confidential or personally identifiable information is not shared with Tencent. The app only collects basic device information, like device region, device model or language.
