It's been a big 6 months for the rising smartphone company, OnePlus. They held the #1 spot for premium smartphones in India thanks to the OnePlus 6T. It was this very smartphone that enabled them to reach the number of sales they hit in the U.S. as well due to a partnership with T-Mobile. It would seem that this partnership has proved to be a success as it is continuing in 2019. T-Mobile has just announced they will be the only wireless carrier that will sell the OnePlus 7 Pro in the United States.
Due to how things are set up it is of interest to have a smartphone on store shelves of retail stores in the United States. For years, Huawei worked to improve their partnership with Best Buy but even they knew being on the shelves of at least one major cellular carrier was their next step. That partnership didn't work for Huawei due to specific reasons but OnePlus was able to bypass all of that political drama and secure a spot in T-Mobile stores in the US. This partnership started with the OnePlus 6T and will carry over to the OnePlus 7 Pro.
The headline in T-Mobile's announcement says it will be the only place to buy the OnePlus 7 Pro. However, those who want to purchase the smartphone from OnePlus.com will still be able to do so (just like we saw with the OnePlus 6T). Anyone at the T-Mobile Times Square store on May 14th will be able to get their hands on the smartphone. T-Mobile is also hosting other hands-on launch events at T-Mobile stores in Chicago, Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, and Santa Monica on May 15th.
The smartphone will be available nationwide via T-Mobile (in stores and on their website), as well as OnePlus' own website on May 17th. As of right now, there isn't any word on T-Mobile availability of the regular OnePlus 7.
