“The Mi MIX 4 teaser does mention the 100 percent screen ratio but doesn’t hint at how Xiaomi has achieved it”
The Mi MIX 4 has to be one of the most tightly guarded phones of 2019. Even as Xiaomi announced its launch date, there are almost no renders or leaks that reveal the design. Also, most specifications are from the rumour mill, with more credible sources such as a TENAA listing missing. However, the company has shared a teaser today that suggests a record-breaking screen-to-body ratio on the device. The company has also renamed the series with a new MIX α moniker just today. The Mi MIX 4 will not be the only product to launch on September 24th though. Xiaomi has made it official that it will also be releasing MIUI 11 on the same day as well as an 8K Mi TV, and the Mi 9 Pro 5G as well.
As can be seen in the teaser, the Mi MIX 4 will one-up even the Vivo NEX 3 when it comes to being bezel-less. It will have a 100 percent screen design, which will surely be impressive. Speculation originating from China suggests a curved AMOLED panel similar to the recent NEX phone as well as a 90Hz refresh rate on the device, the first on any Xiaomi phone. Also, a 108MP Samsung sensor released just recently is said to be on the upcoming device composing a quad camera setup.
The Mi 9 Pro, which is also set to release on the same day, is confirmed to have 30W fast wireless charging as well as 40W wired charging, so we suppose both these features could also make it to the Mi MIX 4. We’re still calling it MIX 4 although none of the promo material contains “4”. In fact, Xiaomi’s latest teaser (just posted) rebadges the series as MIX α (Alpha). Also, expect top-of-the-line hardware such as the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and as much as 512GB of onboard storage and a 4,500mAh battery. We expect to see some more teasers before launch so stay tuned for more surprises.
