IFA 2019 is currently going on in Berlin and we've already seen a bunch of new phone announcements. HMD Global is, of course, no stranger to phone launches as they consistently release new Nokia phones throughout the year. At IFA 2019, the company is showing off the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2.
Nokia 7.2
Both phones are firmly in the mid-range segment, but the Nokia 7.2 is the higher end of the duo. It features a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a small waterdrop notch. The star of the show, however, is the big circular camera bump with the ZEISS optics logo. The triple camera setup includes a 48MP main lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP depth sensor. The phone comes with bokeh modes to mimic classic ZEISS lenses.
Other specs include the Snapdragon 660 processor, 3 or 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, and a 3,500 mAh battery. The phone launches with Android Pie, but HMD Global says it is ready for Android 10 and they have a good track record with updates. It does have a headphone jack and USB-C port. Nokia 7.2 starts at about $330 and comes in three colors. It will be available starting in late September in select markets.

Nokia 6.2
The Nokia 6.2 looks similar to the Nokia 7.2, but it is just slightly less impressive. It has the same 6.3-inch FHD+ display with waterdrop notch and it even has triple cameras. The cameras on the Nokia 6.2 include a 16MP main sensor, 5MP depth sensor, and 8MP wide-angle lens. So what you really miss is the 48MP camera.
Performance-wise, the Nokia 6.2 is packing the Snapdragon 636 SoC, 3 or 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, and a 3,500 mAh battery. Like the 7.2, the Nokia 6.2 launches with Android Pie but will soon receive Android 10. It also has a headphone jack and USB-C port. The phone is available in two colors and pricing starts at about $220 in late September.
