Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro were launched back in August in China. Both the phones pack a quad-camera setup at the rear. While the standard Note 8 came with a Snapdragon processor, the Pro variant surprisingly launched with a MediaTek Helio G90T gaming chipset. This means the ROM development is highly limited and wouldn’t as active as the other Redmi phones that come with a Qualcomm chipset. Now, it looks like the company might be planning on launching a new variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro with a Snapdragon processor as a mysterious Xiaomi device with model numbers M1912G7BE and M1912G7BC have received China’s 3C certification and it reportedly supports Quick-Charge 4.0 at 27W.

While it was initially expected to be the long-awaited POCO F2, sources suggest it’s a new version of the Redmi Note 8 Pro that is said to ship with a Snapdragon 730G instead of MediaTek. Twitter user Android Lovers claims that the rest of the specifications will remain the same, and this means the 64MP quad-camera setup should make a return as well. The upgraded Redmi Note 8 should have the same glass-metal sandwich design and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

Separately, while reiterating that the Xiaomi M1912G7BE and M1912G7BC could be the variants of the new Redmi Note 8 Pro with Snapdragon 730G, noted tipster Xiaomishka suggests that Redmi K30 will have model number M1911U2E and it would come with a MediaTek 5G chipset and launch in December. As we approach the said announcement, we might learn more information about both the handsets, but for now, we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt.
