David Carey, executive vice president of corporate services at T-Mobile, will leave the company later this year.

A new SEC filing shows that Carey's employment will terminate between April 30 and July 1. His departure comes just as T-Mobile merges with Sprint.
Carey joined T-Mobile in 2013. He leads the Office of the CEO, and is responsible for several arms of the wireless carrier including corporate communications, corporate responsibility, and corporate security. Carey is a 43-year veteran of the telecom industry.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere previously announced plans to step down May 1.
T-Mobile declined to comment on Carey's departure. He may enter into a consulting agreement with the company, according to the SEC filing. We've reached out to Carey and will update this story if we hear back.
T-Mobile's $26 billion merger with Sprint, originally announced in April 2018, cleared a significant legal hurdle earlier this month.
The Bellevue, Wash.-based mobile giant today announced an amendment to the merger, agreeing to give T-Mobile majority owner Deutsche Telekom a slightly higher stake in the new combined company.
"With today's agreement in place, we are now turning our attention toward our goal of closing this transaction and creating the New T-Mobile as early as April 1, 2020," said Mike Sievert, COO and president of T-Mobile who will take over for John Legere as CEO on May 1.
T-Mobile CFO Braxton Carter is leaving the company later this year as well.
