Realme X2 Pro smartphone has become the first smartphone from the brand to receive Wi-Fi calling aka VoWi-Fi feature. The company, a week after the announcement, has added the feature to its flagship offering via OTA update. The Realme X2 Pro gets the Wi-Fi calling feature with update version number RMX1931EX_11.A.09. This will allow Realme X2 Pro users on Airtel and Jio network to make/ receive calls over Wi-Fi. The two telecom operators recently announced Wi-Fi calling feature for its customers across the country. Vodafone-Idea users will have the wait a little longer as the telco is yet to roll out Wi-Fi calling feature.
It’s worth mentioning that the update is for the Realme X2 Pro units in India running on ColorOS 6. Users enrolled to Realme UI beta may get the feature via separate firmware. Apart from the Wi-Fi calling feature, the update brings January 2020 security patch and improved system stability to Realme X2 Pro. It also fixes partial known issues and Instagram uploads video failure faced by the users.

“In order to ensure the stability of this update, it will have a staged rollout. The update will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days,” the company noted in the forum post.
A similar update is also expected on Realme X2, Realme XT, Realme X, Realme 5 Pro, Realme 3 Pro, Realme 5 series, Realme 3 series, Realme U1, Realme 1, Realme 2, and Realme C1/ C2. The process of updating the devices is said to be completed by the end of this quarter.
