Xiaomi has started teasing the launch of its next Redmi smartphone in India. The official Redmi Twitter handle has revealed that the Redmi Note 9 will launch in India on March 12.
Redmi India's tweet is also accompanied by an image which shows a quad-camera setup. This could indicate that the phone comes with four cameras at the back. It also looks like two of those cameras are housed inside a punch hole so the image might also be suggesting dual punch-hole cameras on the front. Xiaomi's hashtag — #ProCamerasMaxPerformace — also tells us that cameras will be one of the main highlights of the upcoming phone.

Redmi previously posted a teaser video for the Note 9 starring Indian actor Ranveer Singh. In the video, the actor asks Xiaomi's Global VP Manu Kumar Jain about the launch of the phone.
Responding to that tweet, Jain tweeted out an image asking his followers to spot the Redmi Note 9 in it. You can see the image in the embedded tweet below.
My main man @RanveerOfficial. Of course 9⃣ ayega. And it'll be here very soon.
Legend says that it takes only 9⃣ secs to spot the 9⃣ in this photo!
Mi Fans, are you fast enough? Screenshot it & tweet with #ILoveRedmiNote!

If you look closely, there's a blue colored phone hidden under a newspaper in Jain's image. However, all we can see of the phone is a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille.
What we know about the Redmi Note 9
Xiaomi has done a good job of keeping information about the Redmi Note 9 under the wraps. We haven't seen any major leaks about the phone so far and are not sure if the company will launch both the vanilla Note 9 and the Note 9 Pro at the same event.

What we can tell you is that the Redmi Note 9 will be a successor to the Redmi Note 8 mid-ranger from late 2019. The aforementioned teaser image also make it evident that the phone will feature a quad-camera setup just like its predecessor.
The Redmi Note series is known for its best-in-class performance but last year's Note 8 phones weren't quite the standout devices we'd hoped they would be. Can Xiaomi redeem itself with the Note 9 lineup? Let's wait and watch what happens.
