“The Galaxy A31 would be the successor to the Galaxy A30 and is expected to be announced later this month”
It is a well-known fact that Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy A31 budget smartphone. The handset has appeared on several certification websites before and has now made its way to the Wi-Fi certification site as well. The site doesn’t reveal a lot of information about the device, but it confirms that the phone will be running Android 10 OS. The phone will also support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi frequencies. This also means that the Galaxy A31 is only a few weeks away from launch. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy M31 smartphone in India, which will go on sale later this week.
Samsung Galaxy A31 Wi-Fi certification
As you can see from the screenshot above, the Galaxy A31 Wi-Fi certification doesn’t reveal any crucial information. The only important bit here is that the phone will run Android 10 OS, which should be skinned with Samsung’s OneUI 2.0 or later. Apart from that, the listing shows the model number, which is SM-A315F, and confirms that the phone will support dual Wi-Fi frequency bands.
Previous leaks and certifications have revealed more than this. For example, a report from January 2020 had stated that the phone will come with a dual-rear camera setup, which would include a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel macro unit. The Galaxy A31 is also said to feature a 25-megapixel front camera and a large 5,000mAh battery. In comparison to the Galaxy A30, that’s a 1000mAh increase in battery capacity, which should make it a better deal for customers. It is also expected to get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other specifications such as display size and processor aren’t known.
Samsung has already launched the Galaxy A51 and A71 smartphones, which are mid-range devices. The Galaxy A31 is expected to arrive with the Galaxy A41, but it isn’t known if the company would launch them together, or separate. The Galaxy A41 is expected to get a triple-rear camera setup, a new mid-range Exynos chipset, but only a 3,500mAh battery. We should hear more about these phones later this month, so stay tuned.
