Xiaomi on Friday announced that it has begun shipping a few of its products in India. The company can now deliver the Mi Beard Trimmer, chargers and cables in the country, but there is a catch to this. It looks like Xiaomi will only be able to deliver these products to limited pin codes. On the Mi India website, the company has mentioned that the availability of Mi Bear Trimmer, chargers and cables are subject to regional stock availability and local restrictions. With the country still under the coronavirus lockdown, e-commerce platforms are not allowed to deliver non-essential goods. However, certain states like West Bengal have eased the rules.
Xiaomi says it will be able to ship some products to limited pin codes, which are likely areas that have no COVID-19 cases. The brand adds that it is taking all the necessary measures issued by the government. Unfortunately, Xiaomi is only able to the Mi Beard Trimmer, chargers and cables as of now. Smartphone deliveries are yet to begin, but we expect things to ease up further once the lockdown ends on May 3rd.

If you’re currently looking to buy the Xiaomi Mi Beard Trimmer or the company’s chargers and cables, you can head over to Mi.com and try your luck. After selecting a product, you will have to enter your pin code to see whether Xiaomi will be able to deliver in your area. If your area is in or near a COVID-19 hotspot zone, chances are Xiaomi will not be able to deliver any product to you.
Brands like Xiaomi, Realme and Vivo are eager to start selling their products in India soon, especially smartphones. Post-lockdown, we expect to see phones like the Mi 10, Realme Narzo 10 series and Vivo V19 to launch in India. The government’s rule on preventing deliveries of non-essential products during lockdown has impacted the sale of smartphones in the country, among other things.
E-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart continue to urge the government to allow sale of non-essential products during the lockdown as consumer demand grows by the day.
