Chinese conglomerate Transsion Holdings enjoys a moderate foothold in Nigeria’s mobile phone market alongside its Itel and Tecno brands, and also has one of the country’s top artists in an ambassadorship role. With well received range of devices to it’s name which the S, Hot and Note series are all huge representatives.
Now, the company’s Infinix brand has launched the successor to its Note budget smartphone – the Infinix Note 7 and Note 7 Lite. Both falling within the budget smartphone segment, with features that are intended to match the current competition.
The infinix Note series smartphone has no doubt always captured the interest of the public especially with it’s sleek design build and camera system but with the many devices churn out lately were left wondering if the new Note 7 is really a necessary upgrade now or are we left paying for yet another crap?
Infinix Note 7 Specifications and Features
The smartphone design comes quite impressive with it’s sleek build and amazing screen-to-body ratio which means we get less bezels and just that punch hole front camera sitting all the way to the top left.
Infinix Note 7 smartphone has a 6.95 inches IPS LCD display. It measures 173.4 mm x 79 mm x 8.8 mm and weighs . The screen has a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels and 258 ppi pixel density.
But then why is all this beauty being enclosed in an extreme plastic body?
The fact Infinix continues making smartphones with plastic components and tagging them all up with huge market price doesn’t bode well for the Nigerian market going forward especially with major competitors like Xiaomi lurking in the background.
Again, that’s your call to make there.
Infinix Note 7 smartphone runs on Android v10 (Q) operating system with Infinix 6.0 custom skin slapped ontop. The device is powered by Octa core (2 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A75 + 1.7 GHz, Hexa Core, Cortex A55) processor and runs on the MediaTek Helio G70 Chipset and Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU.
On camera department, infinix Note 7 users get a quad camera that consists of 48 MP (wide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth) + 2 MP (dedicated video camera) with features like Fixed Focus, Quad-LED flash, panorama,HDR, etc. The front camera consist of a 16 MP camera(wide).
The Infinix Note 7 smartphone is fueled with a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery + Fast charging 18W. It has 4 GB and 6 GB as RAM options and a 64 GB or 128 GB available internal storage.
You’re assured never to run out of juice whilst you multitask on this amazing device right?
The device is integrated with a loudspeaker with dual speakers and a 3.5mm jack. Connectivity features include; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, Radio, Volte and USB.The phone handles Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by).
Available sensors include Fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, proximity, and compass.
Infinix Note 7 price & availability in Nigeria
The infinix Note 7 device was launched in April in the Nigerian market and is therefore available for order from any of their major stores – Xspark for N78,000.
There’s also a Note 7 Lite version which appears to be a toned din version of the base device.
The available color options are Bolivia Blue, Aether Black and Forest Green.
Should you buy it?
The Infinix Note 5 was a huge success and the Note 7 unarguably promises even more with suspicions of a Coning Gorilla glass, but from a mid-range user perspective it is more stringent they start prioritizing function over fancy.
Having a mid-range device with plastic components is no big deal at least Samsung intentionally do that on their A-series but then you have to look at the competition.
Also, the world don’t need to hit the caves for protection over Covid-19 before Transsion starts making a smartphone with a Snapdragon SOc.
Of course, these are tiny details but then, the Infinix Note 7 device promises a great mid-range experience especially with that Huawei Mate 30-esque camera arrangement. Hehehe
