The POCO X2 is available only via flash sale on Flipkart.
Vivo Y50 vs POCO X2: design and display
The Vivo Y50 sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ iView LCD display that bears 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner to accommodate a single selfie camera. The Vivo Y50 measures 162.04mm x 76.46mm x 9.11mm and weighs 197 grams.
The POCO X2, in contrast, features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display of LCD variety with dual-punch holes for dual selfie cameras. The screen supports a high 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone gets a glass protection on the back and a quad camera setup that is vertically-aligned along the centre. The alignment of the headphone jack, power button, and charging port are the same as Vivo Y50. The POCO X2 measures 165.3mm x 76.6mm x 8.79mm and weighs 208 grams. While the Vivo phone gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the POCO X2 gets a side-mounted sensor.
Vivo Y50 vs POCO X2: processor and software
The Vivo Y50 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with Adreno 610 GPU, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 256GB. The handset runs FunTouch OS based on Android 10 out of the box to take care of its software side of things.
The POCO X2, on the other hand, rocks a more powerful Snapdragon 730G gaming chipset that is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB user-expandable storage onboard. Software-wise, the POCO X2 runs Android 10-based MIUI 11 with POCO Launcher out of the box.
Vivo Y50 vs POCO X2: cameras
Both phones pack quad rear cameras, but it’s the POCO X2 that offers a better setup. The handset features a 64MP (wide angle) primary sensor, an 8MP (ultra-wide-angle) secondary sensor, a 2MP (depth-of-field) portrait sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The front camera of the phone features a 20MP primary wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth-of-field sensor.
The Vivo Y50’s quad cameras at the back sports a 13MP primary shooter, an 8MP wide-angle lens with 120 degrees field-of-view, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP 2cm macro sensor. For selfies and video chats, there is a 16MP sensor on the front.
Vivo Y50 vs POCO X2: battery
The Vivo Y50 has slight edge over POCO X2 in the battery department. The handset features a large 5,000mAh battery capacity, but it doesn’t support fast charging. The POCO X2 does support fast charging at 27W, but it packs a smaller 4,500mAh battery. Both phones come with standard connectivity options such as 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging.
Vivo Y50 vs POCO X2: which phone should you buy?
Based on the specifications alone, the POCO X2 clearly offers more value for money compared to Vivo Y50. The 120Hz display, 64MP quad rear cameras, Snapdragon 730G chipset, and 27W fast-charging tech are a few features that are still to be beaten in this segment. The Vivo Y50, on the other hand, offers more RAM and storage for the same price as the POCO X2, and it also comes with a bigger battery. While these are some positive points, the phone largely falls short in front of the POCO X2.
