OnePlus Nord vs OnePlus 7T: design

The former has a slightly modern look with a near bezel-less screen and an elongated punch-hole for the selfie cameras in the top left corner. Around the back, the OnePlus Nord features a glass layer and a quad-camera setup vertically aligned in a corner. The OnePlus 7T also ships with a glass-sandwich design but features a waterdrop notch display and triple rear cameras in a circular module at the centre of the frame.

Apart from this, both phones feature power button and alert slider on the right spine, volume rocker on the left, and Type-C port and speaker grille at the bottom edge.

The phone is powered by last year’s flagship Snapdragon 855+ SoC mated with 8GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage under the hood. For photography, the OnePlus 7T rocks triple rear cameras comprising 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with OIS, EIS, and f/1.75 lens, 12MP telephoto sensor with f/2.2 lens, and 16MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 lens and 116-degree field-of-view. While the phones have similar connectivity options, the Nord comes with 5G support for the high-speed internet, which is yet to make its debut in the country. For security, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner.
OnePlus Nord vs OnePlus 7T: verdict
The OnePlus Nord has been priced in India competitively, and it seems to be the better choice if you’re looking for a mid-range smartphone that is future-proof thanks to the 5G support. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC, which is forged using the same 7nm manufacturing process as Qualcomm’s flagship chipset and supports 5G. The Nord also features a total of six cameras, a beefier battery cell, and the more modern punch-hole design. A 90Hz display and 30W fast-charging are also part of the package.
The OnePlus 7T, on the other hand, has the erstwhile flagship Snapdragon 855+ inside, which should easily handle almost everything you’ll throw at it. The phone also supports HDR10+ to offer better picture quality compared to the OnePlus Nord and a dedicated telephoto lens for all the zoomed shots.
