Apple has gone ahead and discontinued some of the older iPhone models following the launch of the highly-anticipated iPhone 12 series. The models that were discontinued yesterday right after the iPhone 12 series launch are the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, both of which arrived last year. These models are now replaced by the new iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. For those of you who are keeping a count, Apple has now discontinued 4 iPhone models this year as the Cupertino-based brand discontinued iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus earlier this year. To recall, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max were the first iPhones to feature the ‘Pro’ moniker and triple rear cameras.

Apple has already pulled the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max from its official website in India, but as you might have already guessed, you can still buy these phones from other e-retail portals, i.e. Amazon, Flipkart, etc., in the country. The iPhone 11 Pro models should continue to be available through third-party channels for the foreseeable future. The iPhone 11 Pro, in fact, will see a price discount during the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days sale.
Considering the overall upgrades that iPhone 12 series brings along, it is hard to believe that there would still be interest in buying the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, but if you cannot wait till the official release of new iPhones, you can definitely go for these. Also, these would be the last set of premium phones from the brand to ship with earphones and charger in the retail box, so that’s something.
