Lenovo launched the phone in India alongside the Moto One smartphone. The Moto G7 is the latest G series smartphone from the company and is a mid-range device. It plans on taking on other smartphones such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, Realme 3, and several others. The phone continues to sport a circular camera module at the back and a fingerprint scanner with the Motorola logo. The camera module features dual sensors, a primary 12-megapixel unit and another 5-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, Lenovo has included a modest 8-megapixel sensor on the front. A 3,000mAh battery is included with support for fast charging.

As for software, the phone runs stock Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, albeit with a few custom Motorola features. The Moto G series was a great phone when the first generation was launched, but has lost its charm over time. And that’s where phones like the Redmi Note 7 Pro come.

The Xiaomi-made Redmi Note 7 Pro is an impressive mid-ranger and is better equipped than the Moto G7. It features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display and a waterdrop notch, similar to the G7. However, that’s where the similarities end. The phone is powered by a much more powerful and efficient Snapdragon 675 chipset. You can have up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage at the same price as the Moto G7. The device features a larger 4,000mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 4 by Qualcomm.

Coming to the cameras, the Redmi Note 7 Pro also features a dual-rear camera setup, but a much better one. It gets a primary 48-megapixel sensor, which takes high resolution photos and does a good job in low-light as well. This monster sensor is paired with a 5-megapixel depth sensing unit, which is used for portrait photography. A 13-megapixel sensor is available for selfies and the phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.

In conclusion, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is definitely a better buy than the Moto G7. For the same money, you can have more RAM, more internal storage, a better camera setup and a larger battery. You decide!
