Xiaomi’s Redmi brand confirmed its upcoming K20 smartphone would be unveiled on May 28th at an event in China. The Redmi K20 has been teased quite a lot in the past few days, including the Hi-Res Audio, Game Turbo 2.0, DC Dimming, and more. We even came across the promotional renders of the phone, showcasing the design in its full glory. Now, ahead of the launch, the Redmi K20 price has been tipped courtesy a retail store in China. According to the promotional banner, the handset will cost RMB 2,599 (around Rs 26,300), presumably for the base variant. We will have to wait for the launch event to find out prices of the remaining variants. The banner also mentions the smartphone will feature a seventh-generation in-display fingerprint sensor.
Going by the earlier leak, the standard Redmi K20 would come in two variants, one with Snapdragon 855 SoC that has been confirmed and the other with Snapdragon 710 processor. Both the variants are expected to pack a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with1,080 X 2,340 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 layer, and screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent. They are likely to run Android 9.0 Pie based on MIUI 10 and feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. The upcoming flagship could be available in Flame Red, Glacier Blue, and Carbon Fibre Black colour options.
Furthermore, the leaked Redmi K20 specifications suggest that the smartphone would feature triple rear cameras consisting a 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor, accompanied by a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide shooter, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto snapper. For selfies, it is said to offer a 20MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0. The phones will be offered in multiple RAM and storage configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB. It will reportedly pack 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0+ through USB Type-C port and have a 3.5mm audio jack. Since we’re just a few days away for the launch, we won’t have to wait long for the details.
