  • Apple 2019 iPhones’ cases with square camera housing leaked
  • “The upcoming iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max, and iPhone XR 2019 are likely to feature new camera arrays on the rear”

Believe it or not, Apple’s upcoming premium iPhone models are likely to have a triple camera setup on the back. There have been several reports to that effect, with several CAD-based renders giving us a look at what the upcoming phones will look like. Now alleged case renders of iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max, and iPhone XR 2019 have now surfaced online via two separate sources. These cases show a design that is pretty much in line what the leaks and renders showed in the past.

While 9to5Mac has gotten its hands on a transparent case for the 2019 iPhone models, a GizmoChina report shows a case with a Kevlar-like pattern on the back. However, both of them reveal that the Cupertino-based firm is indeed going for a square camera housing on the back panel. We can see a square cut-out at the top-right corner of the alleged iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max, and iPhone XR 2019’s cases. As seen from the leaked renders previously, the iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max will have as many as three cameras on the back. The more budget-friendly iPhone XR 2019, on the other hand, will go from a single lens found on its predecessor to a dual camera setup.

Other than that, 9to5Mac tried the respective cases of iPhone XI, XI Max, and iPhone XR 2019 on their predecessors the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, to find that they fit. This suggests that the new iPhones will be of the same size as their 5.8-inch, 6.5-inch, and 6.1-inch counterparts from 2018.

The rest of the setup on upcoming iPhones is likely to be the same. The case reveals that the phones will have a charging port — likely to be Lightning as the Type-C port has reportedly been delayed to 2020 — sandwiched in between the speaker grilles at the bottom edge. The right edge will reportedly have a Power button, while the Volume rocker and Alert Slider will be housed on the left edge.
