Google Pixel 4 and iPhone 11 Pro are among the most important devices on the market because they were developed by the same company that created their software. But is that enough to perform similarly?
To answer that question, Youtuber PhoneBuff has decided to put these devices side by side, running the same applications, and see which one is the fastest. Which one will win the challenge?
iPhone 11 Pro wins the challenge for over 30 seconds
By the end of the test, we found that Apple’s smartphone was able to beat Google’s competitor for 36 seconds. While Google continues to lose this battle, it is a significant improvement from the minute delay Pixel 3 registered against the iPhone XS.
For this test 16 applications were used and two rounds were performed. This is to understand how many applications can models keep open at the same time.
Unfortunately for Google Pixel 4, it clearly begins to lose ground when Adobe Rush opens. It is from this application that things get ugly for the Android smartphone, with a differential of three applications.
Not even the 2GB of RAM that the Pixel 4 XL has more than the iPhone 11 Pro Max is enough to catch up. While on the second lap Google’s smartphone can regain ground, it falls far short of the performance of the iPhone 11 Pro.
Is it fair to compare an iPhone to a Pixel?
This is a question many may ask after this test is performed. We are talking about two devices with different processors and different operating systems.
These points will suffice to argue that this kind of testing is unfair. Because iOS does a different memory management than Android. Therefore, it would be interesting if the same Youtuber performed a similar test between Pixel 4 and another competitor with the same operating system.
