  • Tech – Metro | Google launching ‘Watchlist’ so you can bookmark content to watch later
  • PARIS, FRANCE - OCTOBER 23: In this photo illustration, the logo of the application Google is displayed on the screen of a tablet on October 23, 2018 in Paris, France. After being fined 4.3 billion euros last June for a dominant position in research with its Android mobile operating system, Google has decided to comply by charging for its applications and the Play Store to manufacturers who want to sell their mobile devices in Europe and this without integrating Google Search and Google Chrome. From October 29, Google will implement a fairly complex license system for manufacturers who sell Android-powered mobile devices in Europe and want to install the Play Store and its other applications. How many times do you Google a particular movie or TV Show then make a mental note to watch it later?

Whether it's a hot new Netflix series or a fondly-remembered film from the past, we're inundated with content to watch at any given time.

Which is possibly why Google is launching a new feature so you can keep track of all the stuff you'll never actually get round to viewing. According to reports, the company is adding a 'Watchlist' feature to Google search that lets you bookmark content when you search for it.

If, for example, you wanted to know about Hugh Jackman's last outing as Wolverine, a Google search would throw up 2017's Logan. Underneath the Overview tab showing stills from the film, there would be the option to add it to your Watchlist.

First spotted by 9to5Google, the site says the feature is currently only available on mobile through the web or the Google app for either iOS or Android.

Metro.co.uk has tested this out and can't find the feature active yet on our own devices, which means it may be a staggered rollout.

Users are able to scroll through their watchlist, which features cover art for each TV show or film. Tapping on a title will remove it from your watchlist.

The feature may be basic, but it's probably going to be useful for a lot of people. Now it's just a case of finding more time to watch all the great content that's currently out there.
