“POCO F2 Lite was recently spotted with model number similar to Redmi K30, but live images show completely different design language”
POCO, which is now an independent brand following the last week’s announcement by Xiaomi, seems to be gearing up to launch a new smartphone since the POCO F1 in 2018. POCO will reportedly launch as many as three smartphones this year, and the POCO F2 Lite could be among them. Earlier this week, it was reported that the POCO F2 Lite could be a rebranded Redmi K30 as the two share the same model number. Now, some alleged live images of the POCO F2 Lite (courtesy: YouTuber RevAtlas) have surfaced, revealing a design that is unlike the Redmi K30. The YouTuber claims that the images have been tipped to him by an anonymous tipster, who also happens to know the phone’s specifications and the company’s future plans.
The POCO F2 Lite, as seen from the images, will come with a dot notch screen and Xiaomi’s MIUI. In fact, one of the leaked images with ‘About Phone’ section confirms that the handset will boot the MIUI version (for POCO) out of the box. This could be the same launcher that the vendor has used in its first-gen POCO F1 smartphone. Unfortunately, the images of the phone’s rear panel haven’t been leaked yet.
As for the POCO F2 Lite specifications, the smartphone will reportedly be powered by Snapdragon 765 chipset that comes integrated with a 5G modem, paired with 6GB of RAM and a whopping 5,000mAh battery under the hood. The leak also states that the phone is fitted with a very high-resolution camera, which means that it could come with either a 64MP or 48MP sensor. The exact price of the POCO F2 Lite hasn’t been revealed, but the tipster claims it to be “cheaper than before.” The POCO F1, to recall, was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 20,999.
If the live images are in fact of the POCO F1 Lite, it seems the phone will look quite different from the Redmi K30. To recall, the Redmi K30 was launched with a punch-hole display up front and not a waterdrop notch. While a previous report suggests the two phones share the same model number, it is unclear whether the POCO F1 Lite will indeed launch as a rebranded Redmi K30 in India.
