Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and Redmi 8A Dual prices in India were increased by up to Rs 500 in India just earlier this month but Xiaomi has gone ahead and increased the prices of the smartphones in the country by up to Rs 500 yet again in both offline and online market. Notably, this is the third price hike of these smartphones this year after GST rate was revised in India. Following the latest price hike, Redmi Note 8 variants – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – will now be available on both online and offline stores for Rs 11,999 and Rs 14,499, respectively. These variants were earlier available for Rs 11,499 and Rs 13,999, respectively.
Coming to the other two models, the Redmi 8 (4GB + 64GB), which was earlier retailing for Rs 9,299, will now be available at Rs 9,499 in the country. On the other hand, Redmi 8A Dual (2GB + 32GB), which was being sold for Rs 7,299 earlier, will now be available for Rs 7,499 on both online and offline stores in India.
Just like the last time, the brand has not shared the exact reason for price hikes this time as well. Notably, the Redmi Note 8 was launched at a starting price of Rs 9,999 last year but after the four price hikes, the handset will now be available from a starting price of Rs 11,999 in the country. The new prices of Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and Redmi 8A Dual have already started reflecting on the company’s official website and our retail sources have informed us that the offline pricing is effective immediately as well.
