POCO is gearing up to launch a brand new product in India soon. The company has been teasing the “next #POCOForIndia” on its social media account, raising speculation that it could be the POCO Pop Buds truly wireless earbuds or the POCO F2 Pro flagship smartphone. In an interview with Hindustan Times, POCO India General Manager C Manmohan has clarified that the company will be launching a new POCO phone in India in the next 20-25 days.
“We are definitely going to launch a new phone soon… We want to ensure the philosophy we had is brought to different price ranges,” Manmohan told HT Tech. The POCO India GM did not reveal the exact launch date nor did he reveal the name of the smartphone, but the latter is probably not that hard to guess.
The POCO F2 Pro is the only POCO phone that is yet to launch in India, so that would be our first guess. It would be the perfect time to launch the flagship smartphone in the country as it can finally replace the dated POCO F1 and take on new flagship phones from brands like OnePlus, OPPO, and Xiaomi in the premium segment. To recall, the Snapdragon 865-powered POCO F2 Pro price in Europe starts at EUR 499 (approx Rs 40,700). This makes us believe that the phone can potentially launch in India at an aggressive price under Rs 40,000.
There is a chance POCO could launch a brand new smartphone for the Indian market. Last month, there were reports about a POCO M2 Pro smartphone that received multiple certifications. This is speculated to be a mid-range smartphone, although its specifications are currently unknown. Either way, POCO fans can expect a brand new POCO phone launch in India possibly later this month or in early July.
