  • Samsung Galaxy M41 OLED display details revealed, expected to launch in India this month

    • Samsung Galaxy M41 is expected to launch in India this month
    • Samsung Galaxy M41 to reportedly feature 6.67-inch CSOT flexible OLED panel from TCL

After the Galaxy M01, Galaxy M11, Galaxy A31 and the upcoming Galaxy A21s, Samsung will reportedly launch yet another smartphone in India in June, called the Galaxy M41. According to a new report from South Korea, the mid-range Samsung Galaxy M41 will launch in emerging markets like India later this month. The report adds that the Galaxy M41 will use China’s TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) flexible OLED panel. The Galaxy M41 is said to come with a 6.67-inch flexible OLED display with a FHD+ (1,080 x 2,340) resolution and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. To recall, the Galaxy M40 was launched with a 6.3-inch LCD display.

The same flexible OLED panel is apparently found on the Xiaomi Mi 10 series and Motorola Edge series. Furthermore, Samsung is also testing the BOE OLED panel for the Galaxy M41. Both CSOT and BOE supplied LCD panels for Samsung budget phones earlier.

Samsung using low-cost reliable OLED panels from Chinese suppliers will allow the company to price phones like the Galaxy M41 aggressively in countries like India. Similarly, it will also help BOE and CSOT attract more orders in the future and also increase market share. Not much is revealed about the Galaxy M41 at the moment but we know few details about the handset from earlier reports and leaks.

Samsung Galaxy M41 is said to ship with Exynos 9630 SoC coupled with up to 6GB RAM. It looks like Samsung will be shifting back to Exynos chips from the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor found on the predecessor. The Galaxy M41 will reportedly feature a 64-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 5-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots. It is likely to run on Android 10 OS with OneUI 2.0 custom skin on top.
