  • Remember this Realme phone? Sadly, company will not launch this design and here’s why
  • Highlights
    • The mysterious Realme phone had OPPO Reno-like design with the cameras placed under the glass
    • Realme says the design compromises the battery size

An image of a mysterious Realme phone with OPPO Reno-like design had surfaced online back in April. It showed off the triple cameras sitting below the rear glass panel and a carbon finish. This raised a few eyebrows with many loving the unique new design language. While this phone was believed to be an upcoming smartphone, it seems Realme has no intention of launching this design in the market. Responding to a Twitter user’s question on when the phone would launch, Realme India CMO, Francis Wang, mentioned the company had dropped the design altogether.

Explaining the reason, the executive said that to place the camera module flat under the back cover, the battery size had to be significantly compromised and this wasn’t a fair bargain for Realme. While this should disappoint Realme fans those who were waiting for the phone, Wang mentioned the team is working on “something better” and will continue to offer stylish designs, but he hasn’t gone into details.

The company recently unveiled the Narzo 10 that is aimed at the millennials and the handset ships in That Green colour with vertical stripes, that looks quite unique for the price. Realme has made some stylish phones in the past as well such as the Realme X and Realme X50 Pro, among others.

Separately, Realme X3, X3 Pro, and X3 SuperZoom with model numbers RMX2081, RM2085 and RMX2086 were spotted on BIS certification and Google Play support page. This is a clear indication the India launch could be right around the corner. The Realme X3 SuperZoom debuted globally on May 26th in Europe. While we already know the complete specs of the Realme X3 through the TENAA certification, the Realme X3 Pro details are still a mystery. Speculations are rife the India launch could happen sometime later this month.
