It looks like OPPO is already working on the Reno5 series just a few weeks after launching the Reno4 Pro in India. A new leak today on Weibo has revealed the marketing names of the phones in the OPPO Reno5 series and the processors that will power the devices. There will be a total of three new phones — Reno5, Reno5 Pro, and Reno5 Pro+. However, there’s a possibility these phones may launch under different marketing names in other markets. According to the tipster, the standard Reno5 will ship with the Snapdragon 775G SoC, which is yet to be announced. The chipset is expected to be an upgrade to the Snapdragon 765G.

The OPPO Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro+, on the other hand, are said to be powered by the Snapdragon 860 chipset, which is also yet to be announced. Rumours surrounding the Snapdragon 860 SoC surfaced earlier this month. While that’s pretty much everything that is to know about the OPPO Reno5 series, expect all the models will have 5G connectivity and bring upgrades to design and performance as well.
Separately, OPPO A53 was announced in Indonesia yesterday and is set to launch in India on August 25th. The handset flaunts a 6.5-inch HD+ (1,600×720) with a 90Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. It runs Android 10 OS with ColorOS 7.2 custom skin on top. In terms of cameras, the A53 packs a triple camera setup with a 16MP primary camera and a couple of 2MP sensors. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.
