  • Hong Kong-based smartphone maker and sub-Transsion company, Infinix, has launched one of its most anticipated device of 2020 in Indonesia, called the Infinix Zero 8.

    The smartphone brand which has so far captured the heart of Nigerians and African countries at large with budget smartphone offering including the Smart 4 Plus and recently released Hot 9 series hopes to take a different route with its latest offering.

    A lot has already been made with the increasing acceptance of the Xiaomi and Oppo competition in the Nigerian market and with the Zero 8 device, Infinix hopes to target the mid-range smartphone segment whilst keeping the competition flame blazing.

    Although the smartphone has only been launched in Indonesia for now, it’s only a matter of time before we get a proper launch date for the Nigerian smartphone space.

    The Infinix Zero 8 smartphone comes with a tone of high-end features unlike any infinix product you know and packs a powerful processor at an affordable price. So let us have a look at everything the device brings to the table as well as the expected price.

    Infinix has so far been making great strides with better display panels and lightening on their devices lately as illustrated with the Hot 9 series and the Infinix Zero 8 might just have taken things a notch a bit.

    The newly launched Infinix Zero 8 features a 6.85-inch FHD+ display panel with a refresh rate of 90HZ and180Hz touch sampling rate which is just about a whole selling point on its own. The display flaunts the bezel-less design with a dual-punch-hole cutout for selfie cameras.

    The smartphone runs on Android 10 out of the box based on Infinix XOS 7 custom skin.

    Under the hood, the Transsion sub-brand went with the recently announced MediaTek Helio G90T processor which is a pretty mid-range SoC but highly characterized with providing seamless gaming experience as previously seen in devices including the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme 6.

    In terms of camera, Infinix have always messed things up a bit but the sensor on this latest offering points to a huge kick up the backside and a huge awakening to reality from them.

    The Infinix Zero 8 features a quad-camera setup on the rear which comprises a 64-megapixel Sony IMX696 sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens along with macro sensors and depth sensor.

    It might look beautiful average but let’s not forget Xiaomi advertise the IMX696 sensor on the Redmi 8 to brings outputs just as with the Pixel phones. The story however is different all together.

    However, it will be pretty awesome to see what Infinix has come up with on their own and how they go about processing images on this device.

    On the front, there’s a dual-camera setup with a 48-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens all enclosed in the dual punch-hole cutout.

    The battery capacity on the Infinix Zero 8 smartphone is also very much welcome. A 4500mAh battery capacity on top of a Type-C port for refilling the juice means we get support for 33W fast charging on this piece of hardware.

    The Infinix Zero 8 smartphone has been launched in Indonesia for now though the global launch date remains unknown.

    For bringing themselves up to recent trend with the specs on this device, Infinix promises to take a chunk out of your saving if you ever consider getting a unit. The Infinix Zero 8 will retail at Rp. 3,799 (roughly $210 for the 8GB and 128GB storage variant.

    Meanwhile, the device will be available in two different color options including Black and White.
