  • Nokia 6.2 launched in India with dot notch display and Snapdragon 636 SoC
  • “The Nokia 6.2 is the company’s latest Android One smartphone, running stock-Android 9 Pie OS out of the box”

Nokia 6.2 has made its way to the Indian shores. HMD Global, the license holder to make and sell Nokia phones, has introduced its latest mid-range smartphone Nokia 6.2 in the country. The handset was initially launched alongside the Nokia 7.2 smartphone last month at IFA 2019. The new Nokia 6.2 has got a higher screen-to-body ratio – thanks to the dot notch screen, bigger battery, and better camera setup, but rocks the same chipset Snapdragon 636 SoC as its predecessor. It’s a premium-looking phone that dons a polymer composite that is said to be twice as strong as polycarbonate and half the weight of aluminium.

The Nokia 6.2 is a successor to Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone from last year.

    Nokia 6.2 price, availability

The Nokia 6.2 price in India is set at Rs 15,999. Interestingly, the company has launched just the 4GB RAM variant of the phone in the country – globally it’s available 3GB RAM variant as well. The Nokia 6.2 is now available in Ceramic Black hue only on Amazon.in. Launch offers include 10 percent cashback up to Rs 2,000 on a minimum purchase of Rs 3,000 with HDFC Bank Debit cards, 5 percent instant discount with HSBC cashback card, no-cost EMI option, and up to Rs 9,400 off on exchange.

    Nokia 6.2 specifications

Talking about the Nokia 6.2 specifications, the handset ships with a 6.3-inch PureView display that bears full-HD+ (1,080 × 2,340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, HDR 10 PureDisplay, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone has a slightly dated Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz ticking at its core. This paired with Adreno 509 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB user-expandable storage.

The Nokia 6.2 sports 16-megapixel triple cameras at the back.

The back panel of the Nokia 6.2 sports a triple camera setup – arranged in a circular module. The setup packs a 16-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel secondary depth unit, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with LED flash. The handset’s selfie camera sports an 8-megapixel shooter on the front. For security, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, and Type-C 2.0. A 3,500mAh battery rounds off the specs sheet of the Nokia 6.2 smartphone. The handset boots Android 9 Pie out of the box and the company has promised to roll out Android 10 before the end of this year.
