    Samsung widened the horizon of smartphone photography with the launch of its 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Life-like clarity and details are no longer a wild chase but a reality. And everyone from Realme and Xiaomi wants a share of this. The successor to 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor uses the same Tetracell technology – binning four 16MP pixels into one, but offers 34 percent more optical information and better results in the low light environment. The 64MP sensor has a large f/1.7 aperture lens and uses remosaic algorithm to further enhance the results. The other features of the 64MP sensor include real-time HDR of up to 100-decibels for noise reduction as well as colour accuracy, high-performance phase detection auto-focus technology, and full-HD recording at 480 frames-per-second (FPS) for smooth cinematic slow-motion videos.

    The Realme X2 smartphone is the latest Realme offering to pack 64MP camera. It features almost the same specs as the XT but with the more powerful Snapdragon 730G processor. The rear camera of the handset flaunts quad 64MP Samsung GW1 primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens + 2MP depth sensor + 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, it relies on 32MP shooter instead of the 16MP sensor on the front.

    Other specifications of the Realme X2 sports a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with an optical fingerprint scanner, 4,000mAh battery, and Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 out of the box. The Realme X2 price in India starts at Rs 16,999 for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.     2. Realme X2 Pro

    Realme has added another 64MP camera phone called the Realme X2 Pro to its portfolio in India. The handset has an array of cameras at the back, which includes Samsung GW1 64MP primary sensor, 13MP telephoto lens with 20x hybrid zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 115-degree field-of-view and 2.5mm macro lens, and a 2MP depth unit for portrait shots. The Realme X2 Pro is also the cheapest smartphone with 90Hz display in India yet. The handset price in India starts at Rs 29,999 for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option costs Rs 33,999.

    3. Redmi Note 8 Pro

    The Redmi Note 8 Pro is Xiaomi’s first smartphone that rocks 64MP shooter and has been launched in India already. Like its arch-rival Realme XT, the Redmi Note 8 Pro features a quad-rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary lens, and a couple of 2MP sensors for macro shots and depth-effect. The front camera of the phone gets a 20MP shooter atop the 6.53-inch LCD screen for selfies and video calling.

    4. Realme XT

    The Realme XT was launched as the first smartphone in the Indian market with a 64MP camera. The company introduced the phone back in August, and it comes with as many as quad cameras at the back. The primary camera of the Realme XT sports Samsung’s 64MP GW1 sensor paired with 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. The phone features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display that bears in-display fingerprint scanner and a waterdrop notch as well.

    The Realme XT is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 712 SoC, aided by up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.     The Samsung Galaxy A70s is India’s second and Samsung’s first smartphone with the 64MP camera. The handset has obviously used the in-house ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens at the triple camera sensors at the back. The Galaxy A70s features the same 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display and Snapdragon 675 SoC as the regular Galaxy A70 smartphone, which was launched earlier this year.

    The OPPO Reno 3 smartphone is a mid-range offering that packs a 64MP primary camera. The handset utilises an array of sensors at the back and chief among them is Samsung’s GW1 snapper with 64MP resolution. This is paired with 8MP 116-degree Ultra Wide Lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP macro, and 2MP mono lens with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera of the phone, meanwhile, ships with a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calling.

    In addition to the cameras, the OPPO Reno 3 touts a MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 1000L SoC with 5G connectivity, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage onboard. Other highlights include a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen, with waterdrop notch atop and in-display fingerprint scanner, 4,025mAh battery with VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging support, and Android 10-based ColorOS 6 running out of the box.

    7. Vivo X30 and X30 Pro

    The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro are other offerings that fulfill your appetite of 64MP camera. The 5G handsets have been introduced only in China at the moment. The Vivo X30 ships with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8), an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel portrait sensor. On the other hand, the Vivo X30 Pro 5G rocks a quad-camera setup with an additional 13-megapixel periscope lens (f/3.0) with 5x optical zoom support and a native focal length of 135mm. The cameras are backed by features like 50mm portrait mode, super-night scene, slow motion, time-lapse, HDR, panorama, dynamic photos, AI beauty mode, and more.

    Both the phones have a 32-megapixel selfie snapper (f/2.45) for selfies and video chats. The Vivo X30 duo also rocks a 6.44-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display and octa-core Exynos 980 SoC with integrated 5G modem, 8GB RAM, and either 128GB/256GB internal storage. The entire setup is driven by a 4,350mAh battery with 33W flash charge fast-charging support, while Android 9.0 Pie with FuntouchOS 10 takes care of the software side of things.

    8. Redmi K30

    The Redmi K30 is the world’s first smartphone with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor instead of Samsung GW1 as its main camera. The sensor boasts f/1.89 aperture, 1/1.7-inch sensor, 6P lens, and is assisted by a 5MP macro lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP wide-angle sensor with 120-degree field-of-view. This is for the 5G variant of the phone. On the Redmi K30 4G model, the 5MP macro lens is replaced by 2MP camera.

    The front camera of both Redmi K30 4G and Redmi K30 5G, meanwhile, sport 20MP + 2MP dual cameras for selfies and video calling. The phone features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ punch-hole with 20:9 aspect ratio, 91 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. The 4G version of the phone rocks Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC, while the Redmi K30 5G is powered by the latest Snapdragon 765G chipset that has 5G modem integrated. The Redmi K30 is currently exclusive to China, with India launch expected early next year.

    9. OPPO K5

    The next in the list is OPPO’s latest K-series smartphone, the OPPO K5. The phone sports a quad-camera setup at the back where the primary sensor is Samsung’s ISOCELL Bringh GW1 snapper with 64MP resolution. This is paired with an 8MP wide-angle lens with 119-degree field-of-view, 2MP depth-sensing unit, and 2MP macro lens.

    The OPPO K5 is the third-instalment of the brand’s K-series smartphone, succeeding the OPPO K3 from earlier this year. Apart from the rear cameras, the handset also packs 32MP front-facing camera, gaming-centric Snapdragon 730G mobile platform, 6.4-inch Full HD+ OLED display, waterdrop notch, optical fingerprint scanner, and a beefy battery cell with 30W Super VOOC fast charging support. Currently, the OPPO K3 is only available for sale in China.

    10. Vivo NEX 3

    Vivo has joined the bandwagon of 64MP camera phones with the launch of its flagship NEX 3. The Vivo NEX 3 smartphone features triple rear cameras, which comprises of Samsung GW1 64MP primary sensor, 13MP f/2.48 telephoto lens with up to 20x digital zooming, and a 13MP f/2.2 with 120-degree super wide-angle lens. The front camera sports a 16MP snapper with f/2.09 aperture for capturing selfies, video calling, and facial recognition.

    The cameras aren’t the only highlight of the Vivo NEX 3. The handset features a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED screen that bears a staggering 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. At the phone’s core lies Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus, aided by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage onboard. The NEX 3 also comes with 5G connectivity and houses a 4,500mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.

    11. Samsung Galaxy A81

    The Samsung Galaxy A81 is a rumoured handset and may debut with a 64MP camera next year, as per the alleged Galaxy A-series 2020 roadmap. The smartphone will likely be an upper mid-range offering and feature as many as four cameras at the back. Other than the Samsung GW1 sensor, the setup may include a 16MP wide-angle lens, 12MP telephoto lens with 2x or 5x optical zoom, and ToF or Time-of-Flight sensor. There are no other details available as of now.

    12. Nokia 8.2

    The Nokia 8.2 is expected to be the first 64MP camera phone from HMD Global’s stables. The handset is rumoured to launch as early as next year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 in Barcelona, Spain. The Nokia 8.2 will reportedly pack quad-rear camera setup with 64MP primary sensor and Night Mode to take images in the low light environment. The phone may also support 5G connectivity, run stock-Android 10, and employ Snapdragon 700-series chipset at its core. Lastly, the Nokia 8.2 could come with a sticker price of around $500 that roughly translates to Rs 35,000 in the Indian currency.
