Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has launched the much-awaited Redmi 10X series in China. The series, comprising Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro, is the first 5G-capable lineup from the brand with a MediaTek chipset ticking at its core. The Redmi 10X and 10X Pro both rock the all-new MediaTek Dimesnity 820 SoC that is based on the 7nm manufacturing process and offer dual-band 5G support. Both phones feature waterdrop notch displays and quad-camera setup arranged in a square matrix at the back, similar to the Redmi Note 9 Pro lineup. Other key Redmi 10X series specifications and highlights include the latest MIUI 12 software atop Android 10, a beefy 4,000+mAh battery, up to 33W fast charging support, and in-display fingerprint scanner.
Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X price, availability
The Redmi 10X price in China is set at RMB 1,599 (~Rs 17,000) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage options have respectively been priced at RMB 1,799 (~Rs 19,000) and RMB 2,099 (~Rs 21,000). There is a fourth variant of Redmi 10X as well, which comes with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and costs RMB 2,399 (~Rs 25,000).
The Redmi 10X Pro, on the other hand, has been priced at RMB 2,299 (~Rs 24,000) for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and RMB 2,599 (~Rs 27,000) for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option.
Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro specifications
The Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro both sport pretty much the same specifications. They both pack a 6.57-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 2,400×1,080p resolution, HDR 10+, 20:9 aspect ratio, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 60Hz refresh rate. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. The handsets are powered by an octa-core 2.6GHz MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset, aided by Mali-G57 GPU, liquid cooling tech, and Mi Game Turbo 2.0. The chipset has integrated 5G modem with support for high-speed internet on both SIMs. Software-wise, the handsets run Android 10-based MIUI 12 that brings new Always-on-Display themes and SuperWallapers features, among other things, out of the box. The Redmi 10X series is also IP53-certified for water- and dust-resistance.

The notable differences between the two phones are cameras and fast-charging tech. The Redmi 10X Pro features quad-rear cameras that consist of 48MP primary sensor, 8MP 119-degree wide-angle lens, 8MP telephoto lens with OIS and 30x zoom, and, finally, a 5MP macro lens. For selfies and video calling, the handset sports a 20MP shooter in the waterdrop notch atop the display. The Redmi 10X Pro is equipped with 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

The vanilla Redmi 10X, on the other hand, also features 48MP quad rear cameras but without the 30x telephoto lens. The front camera of the phone has been downgraded to 16MP sensor from 20MP. A 4,520mAh battery drives the entire setup of the phone as well, but it’s backed by 22.5W fast charging tech.
