The budget-centric OPPO A12 smartphone has been launched in India. The handset is among the A-series phones that 91mobiles exclusively reported will launch in the country last week. The OPPO A12 was originally unveiled in Indonesia back in April with specifications like a dual-camera setup, 4,230mAh battery, and fingerprint sensor. Other key highlights include MediaTek Helio P-series chipset, diamond-cut design at the back, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a waterdrop notch display. The OPPO A12 has been priced in India under Rs 10,000, which means it competes against the likes of Realme Narzo 10 series, Samsung Galaxy M01, and Samsung Galaxy M11.

The OPPO A12 price in India is set at Rs 9,990 for the base 3GB RAM variant. There is a 4GB RAM variant as well, which will set you back to Rs 11,990. The handset comes in two colour options: blue and black. The A12 will be available for sale in the country from June 10th via offline stores and leading e-commerce platforms. Launch offers include no-cost EMI up to 6 months and 5 percent instant cashback on Bank of Baroda credit card EMI and Federal Bank debit card EMI. There is six months extended warranty on OPPO A12 purchased before June 21st.

The OPPO A12 runs dated Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.1 out of the box. The phone has 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, up to 4GB RAM, and up to 64GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset houses a 4,230mAh battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
The OPPO A12 has dual cameras at the back, which consists of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. The optics can record 1080p videos and come with 6x digital zoom, portrait mode, AR stickers, professional mode, panorama, and timelapse. The front camera of the phone features a 5MP snapper for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The handset measures 155.9mm x 75.5mm x 8.3 mm and weighs 165 grams.
