Its obvious the world has been brought to a halt somewhat with business and OEMs striving to recoup what is left of the Covid-19 pandemic whilst working round the clock to balance device sales and expenditure.In the midst of all these, Oppo have found a way to reveal the next lineup of its most anticipated flagship device – the Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro.After numerous renders, leaks and speculations, Oppo has launched the Oppo Reno 4 Pro and Oppo Reno 4 the successor to its Oppo Reno 3 lineup in China.The two devices features a more radical look and design to the Oppo phones we’ve been accustomed to in recent years partly due to the new camera module it features.This is a company that has been know for all the intuitive as well as worth-criticizing camera tech placements and system gimmicks that exists; from rotating lenses to pop up techniques and the lot.Huge revelations why they went with the motor- the “ultimate camera phone”Yeah, just pop in a camera lens in a plastic component…nothing else right.
Definitely not the case as the new Oppp Reno 4 Pro and Reno 4 device are powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC which about represents a major upgrade on the Reno 3 device running a Mediatek processor announced last December.This is asides so many other major features (not gimmicks) which makes it a real challenger in the 2020 smartphone market. Oppo Reno 4 Features and Specifications
The base Oppo Reno 4 smartphone features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with punch-hole cutouts on the top.The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage capacity.In the camera department, the Oppo Reno 4 doesn’t disappoint with the device packing a triple camera setup on the rear with a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel sensor.On the front, it has a dual-selfie camera including a 32-megapixel and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter all housed in the intuitive punch hole cutout.Oppo seems to throw up some usual decision tantrums for users with the base Oppo Reno 4 packing a bigger 4020mAh battery than the Reno 4 Pro. A modest upgrade on its Reno 3 device of last year.It comes with support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charger and also has an under-the-display fingerprint sensor.The Oppo Reno 4 smartphones is in three different colour options including Diamond Blue, Mirror Black and Taro Purple.

On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 4 Pro features more bumped up specs with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display but with a refresh rate of 90Hz.The smartphone is also powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC and running Android 10 out of the box.Available storage options are also different on the Reno 4 Pro, with an increased 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage capacity.In terms of the camera, the Oppo Reno 4 Pro comes with a triple camera setup on the rear and a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. There is also an OIS on the main sensor.Pretty much stands for – “Optical Image Stabilization” if I’m right. Am I? YayOn the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The camera also boasts of a 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom.In the battery segment, is really where the war is as Oppo has chosen to launch the Reno 4 Pro on a lesser battery capacity to the base Reno 4 device.Purely a handsome marketing move is it? but we have a spoiler…The Oppo Reno 4 Pro houses a 4,000mAh battery with support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charger.It just doesn’t make any sense to have a 90Hz screen refresh rate which is a welcome move and then go on to lower the battery capacity in it’s variateBut then, 4,000mAh with a 65W fast charge is a modest ask for any 2020 smartphone…we all happy now!Moving on, the Reno 4 Pro also supports in-display fingerprint sensor and various connectivity options including the 5G, Bluetooth, 5G, Wi-Fi and a USB Type-C port.The phone has five colour options including the Diamond Blue, Diamond Red, Mirror Black, Titanium Blank and Green Glitter.
Oppo Reno 4, Oppo Reno 4 Pro Price and Availability in Nigeria
The Oppo Reno 4 is priced at 2999 Yuan (NGN L164,200 approximately) for the 8GB+128GB variant whereas the 8GB+256GB variant costs 3299 Yuan (NGN185,500 approximately).The Oppo Reno 4 Pro on the other hand will set intended buyers back on 3799 Yuan for the 8GB+128GB variant which is approximately NGN207,900 whereas the 12GB+256GB variant costs 4299 Yuan (NGN235,300 approximately).Hard to forget but this was a company that officially announced itself to the Nigerian market in early 2019 with the launch of its F11 series and the Reno 2 smartphone, right now we at Naijatechguy can’t confirm if it will be same launch name here in Nigeria.But right now, the phones have been released in China though the company will definitely be planning for a global launch soon.
