Samsung has announced that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 5th. The event is expected to see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Fold successor. Ahead of the launch event, the IMEI database seemingly confirms that the foldable phone will indeed be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, as recent reports claim. The phone has been listed with model number SM-F916U. Additionally, we also spot the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Plus (SM-N985F) moniker listed as well.

Based on the renders we’ve seen so far, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will look similar to its predecessor in terms of form factor. It will open and close horizontally like a book instead of vertically like the Galaxy Z Flip. The flexible display inside is expected to see a punch-hole cutout instead of a notch, while the cover display will be taller thereby reducing the bezels on the top and bottom. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will likely be powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset in the US.
As for the Galaxy Note 20 series, we expect to see three models that will include the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. All three models will come with sharper edges in keeping with the Note line, the S Pen and a new Copper colour option. The phones should also be powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset in the US, while the Indian market will likely get the Exynos-powered variants.
