Realme has confirmed that it will be launching the Realme C12 and Realme C15 smartphones in India on Tuesday, August 18th at 12:30 PM. The company had been teasing new Realme C-series phones coming to the country, but the names were officially confirmed on Tuesday and launch date was revealed on Wednesday. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said that the Realme C12 and Realme C15 will be budget phones that will, along with the Realme C11, cover all sub-Rs 10,000 price points. The Realme C15 has already been launched outside India so its specifications and design are known, while the Realme C12 is a brand new model that will make its debut in India.
Based on the tweet by Madhav Sheth, the Realme C12 and Realme C15 will be priced under Rs 10,000 in India. To recall, the Realme C11 was launched starting at Rs 7,499, so we expect the Realme C12 and Realme C15 to slot between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000. The digital launch of the two budget phones will be streamed on Realme’s social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
The Realme C15 has been launched in Indonesia with a 6.5-inch LCD HD+ waterdrop display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone runs on Android 10 OS with Realme UI custom skin on top and is equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Realme C15 houses a 6,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast-charging. It features a 13MP quad camera setup at the back and an 8MP selfie camera.
The Realme C12 has appeared on Geekbench where it is revealed that the phone will be powered by the MT6765G chipset, which is either the MediaTek Helio P35 or Helio G35 SoC, and we’re leaning towards the latter. The phone will come with 3GB RAM and Android 10-based Realme UI. The Realme C12 may also house a 6,000mAh battery as per the NBTC certification.
